LS Mtron, a member of LS Group specializing in industrial machinery and high-tech parts, announced on August 18 that the company recorded KRW 526.2 billion in sales and KRW 20.8 billion in operating profit in the first half. Its sales went up by 37.4% YoY, and its operating profit grew from a deficit to a surplus. This year will be the first year that marks the start of solid growth.
The upward trend of LS Mtron’s tractor business is noteworthy. By providing enhanced quality and service in North America, the world's largest and most competitive market, its sales surged by more than 30% YoY. As a result of increased demand for small tractors for home use by hobby farmers, LS Mtron has already secured an order backlog of more than 10,000 units in North America alone. The company is planning to operate the factory at full capacity by the first half of next year. In the domestic market, it has secured collaboration efficiency between the head office and 120 regional agencies through a sales cloud, and built a data-centric sales management system. It has launched the XP-AUTO MODE tractor and the T5/T6-DCT tractor, which are large premium products equipped with new functions and improved work convenience, and they are getting a warm response from the market to the extent that advance reservations are underway.
LS Mtron is also in the midst of modernizing Korea's agriculture with the autonomous tractor LS SmarTrek and the remote management service iTractor, which will become key growth axes in the near future.
As for the injection molding machine, another flagship product of LS Mtron, the company launched the premium hydraulic model the ONE*. It has been recognized for its quality and performance, which are on a par with not only domestic products, but also those of advanced companies in the global market. In particular, in the North American market, it accomplished the splendid feat of doubling sales compared to the previous year. LS Mtron is planning to launch the electric model the ONE-E in the second half of this year, and it is expected that there will be great results in the electric injection molding machine market, which is led by Japanese companies.
In addition, as LS Mtron's product power has been recognized by major global makers in the electronic parts business, its sales to major customers are continuously expanding.
